| A talented and pacey left-back, Gary Naysmith's reputation grows with every season.Kept Rob McKinnon out of the team for long periods in 1998/99 and has proved a huge asset to the team.A player who has supported the club since his youth, he has quickly come through the ranks and has shown remarkable consistency for his age.Mature and sensible at the back, he also likes to get forward at every opportunity and likes to take defenders on.Scored two memorable goals - against St Johnstone and Aberdeen - as Hearts pushed for the league title in 1997-98 and Jim Jefferies could not leave him out of the team.Capped at Under-21 level for Scotland and went on to win his first full cap against the Republic of Ireland at the end of last season. |
