| After more than a decade with Wimbledon the Scotland international keeper finally left the Dons on a free transfer at the end of a disappointing season that saw the London outfit relegated from the Premiership.There had been rumours throughout the 1999/2000 season that the he would be leaving Wimbledon with reported interest from a number of clubs that finally ended with Spurs agreeing a three-year contract that will keep the highly-rated goalkeeper at White Hart Lane until June 2003.Widely recognised as one of the best keepers' in the country Sullivan made his debut for Wimbledon in 1990 but he was only second choice behind Hans Segers until the 1995/96 season when he broke through and never looked back to be then considered a regular under Joe Kinnear.At one time Sullivan was behind veteran keeper Jim Leighton in the Scotland pecking order when he was first picked for the international squad in 1998 for France 98.But he has taken his opportunity with distinction and is now Craig Brown's first choice between the sticks for Scotland.A big man he is very effective in a one-on-one situation and is generally known as a brilliant shot stopper.Came to the club on a Bosman free transfer during the summer 2000 and immediately took over the first team jersey from Ian Walker. |
