| A strong, powerful striker who's made 17 international appearances for England.Made his name at QPR where he scored 80 League goals at a ratio of one every two games. His big-money move to Newcastle saw him hit a golden period and under Kevin Keegan he netted 41 League goals in just two seasons. It was a major surprise when he left St James' Park after becoming a folk hero with the Newcastle fans. Having been a lifelong Spurs fan it wasn't a surprise that his destination was White Hart Lane.However, Spurs fans haven't seen the best of Ferdinand and he's struggled to find his form in the last two seasons. His goal-scoring has dipped but he remains good in the air and still holds the ball up well. Towards the end of the 1998/99 season it looked as though he was beginning to forge a good partnership with Steffen Iversen.Injuries continued to take their toll and during the 1999/2000 season Ferdinand made just five first team appearances. |
