| The Dutchman became a popular figure at Portman Road during the 1999/2000 promotion season and it was only fitting that the forward scored the fourth and deciding goal in the 4-2 Wembley play-off defeat of Barnsley.Reuser also notched the fifth goal in that tremendously tense semi-final play-off win against Bolton. The game ended 5-3 after extra time having seen Ipswich score a last minute equaliser via Jim Magilton to make the match 3-3 at the end of normal time.He previously played alongside Holland international and Arsenal forward Dennis Bergkamp while he was with Ajax, but a £1.2million transfer from Vitesse Arnhem, after a successful loan spell, was concluded in the summer of 2000.The skilful and exciting player is considered one of the clubs leading players and has virtual cult status with Ipswich fans. |
