| Kieron Dyer |
Newcastle Born: 12/29/78 Hometown: Ipswich |
| A Ruud Gullit signing, Dyer was a key player in Ipswich Town's push for promotion from division one during 1998-99.He joined his home-town club straight from school, surprising many opposing managers with his classy displays in a variety of positions. He has filled the role of right wing-back but he is equally at ease in midfield. So far, he has represented England at every level, through the youth, Under-21 and 'B' and full first teams.Dyer had been tipped to join West Ham or Leeds, but Gullit managed to persuade him that his future would be best served on Tyneside. He rapidly became an instant hit on Tyneside and his surging runs from the flanks mark him down as a player difficult to defend against. |
