| Brescia got a good result against much higher rated Fiorentina. They had already collected a point from their match against Parma, another highly ranked opponent, last week.
Fiorentina were looking to repeat last week's sensational result, when they won 2-1 against Reggina, being one down only five minutes from time. But it was not to be and in the end they were lucky to even get one point from this game.
In the first half Fiorentina were the better side, creating a few good chances.
A blast by Angelo Di Livio was saved by Czech Republic and Brescia keeper Srnicek.
Brescia got a chance when Hubner's effort was saved by Fiorentina keeper Toldo.
A shot by Amoroso was saved and Portuguese striker Nuno Gomes was not able to score from the rebound.
Just after the break Fiorentina got another good chance of a goal, when a shot by Rui Costa went over the bar.
The home side took the lead five minutes after the interval. Hubner received a pass through the centre of the Fiorentina defence. He had no trouble putting the ball past Toldo into the opponent's net.
Hubner then got a good chance to score his second of the match, but his effort went over the crossbar.
In the 70th minute, the visitors managed to score the equaliser. After a cross by Chiesa, the ball was headed against the post, but Leandro then put it into the net.
