Soccer Recaps
Perugia 1, Napoli 1
November 12, 2000
Napoli were looking for their first win of the season but again they failed to take the full three points from the match.

But coach Zdenek Zeman must be satisfied with his team's performance as his side played neat football at the Curi Stadium.

In the 18th minute the visitors got on the scoresheet through striker Nicola Amosuso, for his first goal of the season. He tapped the ball into the unguarded net after Claudio Bellucci's shot that had rebounded off the post.

Perugia were unable to come up with an answer straight away and the visitors surged forward looking for a second goal.

Nicola Amoruso volleyed just over the crossbar from inside the penalty area for Napoli.

Perugia slowly pulled themselves together and pushed Napoli back into their own half.

In the 70th minute they were level with their opponents when Marco Materazzi converted a penalty following a foul on Christian Bucchi.

In the 78th minute Napoli were reduced to 10 man when defender Francesco Baldini was sent off by referee Messina.

Napoli remain bottom of the table as they are still look for their first win of the season. They have the worst defence in the league, having conceded a total of 14 goals in just 6 matches.
