Brescia 0, Juventus 0
November 19, 2000
After a recent run of poor results, Juventus went into the match with Brescia looking for a win. Brescia played a very defensive formation throughout the entire match, which frustrated their opponent's.

The Turinese side started the match in aggresive fashion. They went close to taking the lead twice inside the first 10 minutes of the game.

Alessandro Del Piero tried to surprise Brescia keeper Pavel Srnicek from close range, but the keeper dived to his right to deny him.

Then the Czech born keeper tipped a long range shot from Zinedine Zidane over the crossbar.

After the early chances for Juventus, Brescia reorganised themselves and this frustrated the Juve players time after time. on occasions the home side played with seven men in front of their keeper. The 'Bianconeri' proved unable to break them down and the match became stale.

To add more weight up front, Juve coach Ancelotti brought in Yugoslavian striker Darko Kovacevic. He replaced Del Piero.

Juventus realised that they could not cut inside the Brescia defence from the flanks and began to shoot from distance.

In the 62nd minute Edgar Davids hit the post with a blistering shot from just outside the penalty area. A few minutes later Zidane shaved the post.

Juventus are not having a great start to the season, as they are already six points behind league leaders AS Roma. But just like last season, they have one of the best defences of the Serie A.

Brescia are still waiting for their first win of the season. Their biggest problem seems to be scoring goals, as they have only scored six times in seven matches.
