| Brescia suffered another defeat at the hands of a courageous Verona. Even Roberto Baggio was not able to give them a share of the spoils.
Baggio's relied upon talents were wasted against the much more organised Verona.
Nevertheless Brescia started on the right foot trying to dominate play with intruiging manoeuvres which surprised the home team.
But when it seemed that Attilio Perotti's team was bound to take the lead, Verona midfielder Emiliano Bonazzoli capitalized on a defensive error from Pier Paolo Bisoli and made it 1-0 in the fifthth minute. It was the first goal of the season for the Verona striker.
After the opening goal both teams were unable to create any realistic goalscoring opportunities for the remainder of the first half of the match.
After they fell behind Brescia were unable to play as well as they did in the first minutes of the game, and while they tried to at least give some signs of life in the first half, in the second half they gave up and left the baton of play to their adversaries, who accepted, thanked and closed the match with yet another goal from young gun Antonio Gilardino in the 84th minute. It was Gilardino's second goal of the season.
One minute into injury time Brescio substitute Hubner scored a consolation goal, netting his fourth goal of the season.
