| The match against Perugia is a match Udinese will want to forget quickly. Not only did they lose 3-1 but they also lost defender Gargo with a red card.
Udinese started the match in confident fashion, following their previous 3-1 victory over in form Bologna.
However, in the seventh minute Perugia failed to capitalise on an opportunity to take the lead when Vryzas failed to hit the target after a cross by Pieri.
Two minutes later another cross by Pieri almost went in off the post, but luckily for Udinese keeper Turci the ball went wide of the goal.
But in the 11th minute Perugia did take the lead when a corner was headed in by Saudati. Turci managed to get his left hand to the ball, but it was not enough to prevent the ball from going into the Udinese goal.
Three minutes later Saudati almost scored another, but his was prevented from going in by the woodwork.
After taking the lead Perugia began to dominate the game and enjoyed the majority of possession. And in the 29th minute Ze Maria almost made it 2-0, but a brillant save by Turci denied him.
With 10 minutes of the first half remaining, and against the run of play, Udinese managed to score the equaliser. Defender Sottil headed the ball over Perugia keeper Mazzantini after a corner by Walem.
But their celebrations were shortlived, as two minutes later Perugia took the lead for the second time in the match. The referee put the ball on the spot after Udinese defender Gargo fouled Saudati inside the box. The penalty was converted by Materazzi and Gargo had to take an early shower.
Six minutes into the second half Perugia almost made it 3-1 when a header by Ze Maria off a corner rebounded against the Udinese post.
Udinese, despite being a man down, tried to force the equaliser and they almost did so when a shot by Fiore was saved by Mazzantini.
Two minutes into injury time Tedesco made it 3-1 for the home side, when he tipped in a cross by Basso.
