| TEAM NOTES | Coach: Graham Taylor (since February 2002) Premiership Record: 2-4-0 Rank: 15th, 6 points Last Result: 3-0 loss at Birmingham City, September 16 Streak: Lost 1 Next Game: vs. Everton, September 22 Monday night proved to be a major humiliation for Aston Villa at St. Andrews. Playing crosstown rival Birmingham City in a fiercely competitive derby, Villa lost 3-0 and dropped down six places to 15th. The club's loss was compounded by a dreadful error from goalkeeper Peter Enckleman who gifted the Blues their second goal. Enckelman failed to control a throw-in from Olof Mellberg and allowed it to roll into his net. Referee David Elleray ruled that Enckelman had made faint contact with the ball and awarded a goal. At the time, the Finnish keeper did not protest. But in the wake of embarrassing headlines all across the back pages of Tuesday's newspapers, he insisted he had made no contact with the ball and that a corner should have been awarded instead. ... Darius Vassell is set to return after a hamstring problem for the game against Everton. Enckleman will retain his place in goal. ... Last season's corresponding fixture finished scoreless.
