Streak: Won 1 Numancia finished the season with their third consecutive home win last weekend in a 2-1 victory over Alaves. The win marked Numancia's final match in the first division. The Soria club's inaugural stint in first division lasted just two seasons. Numancia managed just two road victories this season, a 3-1 win over Malaga in October and a 2-0 win at Alaves in January. The highlight for Numancia will undoubtedly be the 3-1 win over Real Madrid last fall in which Romanian midfielder Laurentiu Rosu scored a hat trick. Rosu is likely to find a new club in the first division next year. Coach Celestino Vallejo, who posted a 3-1-1 record in the final five games of the season, has been rewarded with a two-year contract extension.
