TEAM NOTES
Coach: Radomir Antic (1st year) Liga Primera
Record: 11-19-8
Rank: 18th, 41 points
Last Result: Lost 4-2 at Mallorca, June 17
Streak: Lost 1 Oviedo, which had spent the last 34 weeks out of the relegation zone, was relegated last weekend after a 4-2 loss at Mallorca. That result, coupled with Osasuna's 1-0 win over Real Sociedad, left Oviedo in 18th place for the first time since September. Oviedo will play second division football for the first time in 13 years next season and the Asturias region of Spain will be without a first division club for the first time in 25 years. Coach Radomir Antic, who coached Atletico into relegation last season, coached his second straight club into relegation. Oviedo, which opened their new stadium with seven straight home games early in the season, can point to their road form as the reason for the drop. Oviedo lost nine straight away from home. Oli led the club with 15 goals this season.
