TEAM NOTES
Coach: Franco Colomba (2nd year) Serie A
Record: 10-17-7
Rank: 14th, 37 points
Last Result: 2-1 win vs. Milan, June 17
Streak: Won 1 Goals by Giovanni Morabito and Portuguese striker Da Costa, his first goal for the club, turned the score round for Reggina at the Oreste Granillo stadium against Milan on the final day of the season, giving the maroons a 2-1 win and so taking them into a relegation play-off against Verona...Reggina lost the first-leg of the play-off 0-1 at the Bentegodi stadium in Verona, which left the following Sunday's second-leg at home an open game...first-half goals by Andrea Zanchetta and Francesco Cozza seemed to have done the trick for Reggina at the Oreste Granillo stadium, but a goal in the dying minutes of a tense game by Verona substitute Michele Cossato means the team from Calabria are relegated on the away goals rule, after winning the game 2-1...Chilean defender Jorge Vargas received a red card in injury time, and it was tears all round as Reggina bid farewell to Serie A after two season in the top flight...coach Franco Colomba will probably leave this summer, while departing players should include Mozart and Luca Mezzano.
