| TEAM NOTES | Coach: Rafa Benitez (1st year) Liga Primera Record: 11-4-11 Rank: 1st, 44 points Last Result: 1-1 tie at Villarreal, February 16 Streak: Tied 2 Next Game: vs. Barcelona, February 23 UEFA Cup Last Result: 4th Round, 1st leg ~ 3-0 win vs. Servette, February 19 Next Game: 4th Round, 2nd leg at Servette, February 28 League leaders Valencia are set to reach the quarterfinals of the UEFA Cup after a 3-0 first leg victory over Swiss side Servette on Tuesday night. Argentine international Pablo Aimar scored for the second straight match for Valencia, who took over the Liga Primera lead with a 1-1 draw at Villarreal last weekend. Aimar scored the game-tying goal with less than ten minutes remaining in that match and appears to have overcome a midseason loss of form. Valencia have conceded just 22 goals on the season heading into this weekend's battle with Barcelona. It is Barcelona and specifically Rivaldo, who forced Valencia into the UEFA Cup instead of the Champions League on the final day of last season. Barcelona and Valencia have enjoyed a heated, but entertaining rivalry in the last four years. The two clubs have combined for 56 goals in their last 15 matches in all competitions. Midfielder Ruben Baraja injured his hamstring against Villarreal and will likely miss the match.
