ATLANTA (CNN/SI) -- England's Manchester United finishes the 20th Century as the No.-1 team in the CNN/World Soccer Top 10, the unique ranking of football clubs is issued each Monday and determined through voting by correspondents from CNN Sports and World Soccer magazine. The final year of the 1990s brought stunning success for United, which won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League and Intercontinental (Toyota) Cup titles. Much of world is currently out of action, as European leagues have started their traditional winter breaks and South American leagues have concluded their campaigns. But England takes no winter break, and Man United capitalized by beating a struggling Bradford side 4-0 on Sunday. United remains two points behind Leeds United -- the No. 7 team in the Top 10 -- and has one more round to gain ground before the century ends. Staying steady at No. 2 is Italian leader Lazio, which -- along with No. 3 Juventus and the rest of the Serie A -- will be idle through January 6. German Bundesliga leader Bayern Munich drops one spot to No. 4 despite advancing to the semifinals of the German Cup with a 3-0 win over second-division Mainz. Tied last week at No. 3 with Bayern after winning the Argentine league title, River Plate slides two spots to No. 5 in this week's rankings. Rejoining the list at No. 6 is Brazil's Corinthians, which eliminated Atletico Mineiro last week to take home its second-straight Brazilian championship. Dropping one spot to eighth is Spanish leader Deportivo Coruna, which saw its seven-game winning streak snapped by Real Zaragoza last Wednesday. Next on the list is Barcelona, which failed to capitalize on Deportivo's loss with a 1-1 draw at Rayo Vallecano. Rounding out the Top 10 is Brazil's Flamengo, which won the Copa Mercosur title over fellow Brazilians Palmeiras last week. Dropping out of the list this week are Lyon and Monaco of the French first division and Portugal's FC Porto. Click here for the current set of Top 10 Reactions.
