There's little doubt that Marvin Harrison has become Peyton Manning's favorite receiver in Indianapolis. But the former Syracuse standout is rapidly become of the NFL's top targets.

Harrison has not had a 1,000-yard season in his first three NFL seasons. In 1999, he's on pace for more than 2,250.

Granted, it's only Week 3, but Harrison is catching passes like few Colts ever have.

Harrison has 28 receptions after the first three games, putting him on pace to shatter Marshall Faulk's record of 86 from 1998. He also has six touchdown receptions, which should challenge Raymond Berry's 14 set in 1959.

Harrison's 196-yard game against San Diego on Sunday was the fifth-best receiving game in Colts history. His 13 catches tied Lydell Mitchell and Joe Washington's team record.

Before Sunday, Harrison's career highs were nine catches for 128 yards, both against the Jets in 1998. He also had a nine-catch game in '97.

Harrison has three 100-yard games to start the season. To put that in perspective, a Colt has had three or more 100-yard receiving games in a season only 17 times in franchise history.

There have been only four seasons with four or more 100-yard games, the last by Jimmy Orr in 1962. Berry had a Colts record seven 100-yard games in 1960.

Then again, Manning saved some of the record breaking for himself. He threw for 404 yards, breaking Johnny Unitas' 31-year-old team mark
