.133 -- Reds outfielder Deion Sanders' batting average (4-30) since going 3-for-3 in his first game of the season. Sanders hit a three-run home run in that game but has only one RBI since.
1 -- Players who have hit their 400th home run in a Cubs uniform -- Ernie Banks on Sept. 2, 1965. Cubs slugger Sammy Sosa is two home runs away from No. 400. Five other members of the 400-home run club played for the Cubs at some point in their careers -- Jimmie Foxx, Dave Kingman, Andre Dawson, Billy Williams and Rafael Palmeiro.
2 -- Mariners who have posted two hitting streaks of at least 15 games in the same season -- Joey Cora, who had two 16-game streaks in 1998, and Ichiro Suzuki, who is following up a 15-game streak with a 19-game tear.
3 -- Consecutive victories needed by the 28-9 Mariners to match the 1998 Yankees and '46 Red Sox for the second-best 40-game start since 1946. The 1984 Tigers went 35-5 to set the all-time record for best 40-game start.
3-18 -- The Cubs' record at St. Louis' Busch Stadium since Oct. 2, 1998, including three losses this weekend.
4 -- Home runs hit by B.J. Surhoff in 80 games with the Braves since July 31. He had hit 13 home runs in 103 games for the Orioles last year.
5 -- Earned runs allowed by Yankees closer Mariano Rivera against the Orioles on Sunday after allowing three all season entering the game. Rivera's worst previous outing was July 16, 1999, when he gave up four runs to Atlanta.
7-0 -- The Devil Rays' record in Tanyon Sturtze's seven starts dating to last season, including 2-0 this year.
8 -- Teams that have not pitched a complete game this season -- Montreal, Kansas City, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Seattle, San Francisco, Texas and Toronto.
13 -- Stolen bases by Yankees outfielder Chuck Knoblauch, the major league leader, after swiping last season. Teammate Alfonso Soriano is second with 12.
14 -- Consecutive starts by Marlins right-hander Brad Penny without a loss, dating to June 28. Penny is 7-0 with a 4.33 ERA in that span.
17 -- Consecutive batters retired by Dodgers closer Jeff Shaw, who has not allowed a run in his past nine appearances.
19 -- Consecutive scoreless innings pitched by Los Angeles' Kevin Brown. The Expos' Masato Yoshii had a 19 2/3 innings scoreless streak snapped by the Rockies on Sunday.
32 -- Strikeouts by Arizona's Randy Johnson in consecutive starts last week, falling one short of Kerry Wood's record of 33 set in 1998. Johnson also accomplished the feat in 1997, and Pedro Martinez did it twice as well, in '99 and 2000.
64.1 -- Percentage of Rockies center fielder Juan Pierre's swings (109-170) that have put the ball into play, the highest in the major leagues. Cleveland's Russell Branyan is last at 28.0 percent (74-264).
201 -- Career home runs by the 25-year-old Alex Rodriguez, making him the fifth-youngest player in major league history to reach the 200-home run mark behind Mel Ott, Eddie Mathews, Jimmie Foxx and Mickey Mantle. Only three other shortstops have reached the milestone -- Cal Ripken Jr. (345), Ernie Banks (277) and Vern Stephens (213).
