2 -- Players who have hit 30-plus home runs for four different teams -- Jose Canseco and Fred McGriff. Greg Vaughn needs seven home runs to become the third. All three would have completed the feat as Devil Rays.
3 -- Teams with seven players that have hit at least 10 home runs -- the Brewers, Astros and Yankees.
5 -- Number of Cal Ripken's nine home runs this season that have been in his final game at a stadium. He has homered in his farewell games at Philadelphia, Atlanta (twice), Florida and Texas. Ripken is hitting .350 (35-for-100) since announcing his retirement June 19.
10 -- Base hits by Brewers pitcher Jamey Wright this season, one shy of the club record for hits by a pitcher shared by Skip Lockwood in 1970 and Hideo Nomo in 1999.
11 -- Consecutive victories by the Red Sox in games started by David Cone.
17 -- Stolen bases by Vladimir Guerrero this season. He needs three more for the first 20/20 season of his career.
22 -- Walk-off grand slams that have produced one-run victories in major league history. Brian Giles accomplished the feat Saturday with a grand slam off Houston's Billy Wagner in the bottom of the ninth that gave Pittsburgh a 9-8 win.
23-7 -- The Dodgers' record from June 26 to July 28. The last time the Dodgers won 23 games in a 30-game stretch was June 29-Aug. 2, 1985. The Dodgers have had two better 30-game stretches in their Los Angeles history, going 24-6 from April 7-May 12, 1997 and May 8-June 6, 1962.
50 -- Games needed by Ripken to join Carl Yastrzemski, Hank Aaron and Stan Musial as the only players to appear in 3,000 games with the same team.
61.5 -- Percentage of would-be basestealers thrown out by Reds catcher Jason LaRue, tops in the major leagues.
68 -- The NL record for consecutive innings without a walk, shared by Christy Mathewson and Randy Jones. Greg Maddux's walkless streak is at 58 2/3 innings.
98 -- Strikeouts by Cleveland's C.C. Sabathia, the most among major league rookies this season.
105 -- Strikeouts by Cardinals outfielder Ray Lankford, making him the eighth player in history to reach the 100-K plateau in 11 consecutive seasons. Reggie Jackson holds the record with 18.
857 -- Combined career home runs by Cubs teammates Fred McGriff (436) and Sammy Sosa (421). They are the fifth pair of 400-home run club teammates in major league history, joining San Francisco's Willie Mays and Duke Snider in 1964; Atlanta's Hank Aaron and Eddie Mathews in 1966; Cleveland's Eddie Murray and Dave Winfield in 1995; and Tampa Bay's McGriff and Jose Canseco in 1999-2000.
