.132 -- Batting average compiled by American League pitchers during interleague play. Brian Kingman
There have been eight 19-loss seasons since Brian Kingman went 8-20 in 1980. AP
1 -- Teams that have not thrown a complete game this season. It's the Braves, believe it or not.
2 -- Players in the modern era who have collected three hits in an inning, both times at Fenway Park by Red Sox outfielders. Gene Stephens had two singles and a double in a 17-run seventh inning on June 18, 1953. Johnny Damon was a home run shy of the cycle in Boston's 14-run first inning Friday night aginst the Florida Marlins.
3 -- Players who hit .400 during the month of June: St. Louis' Albert Pujols (.443), Minnesota's Corey Koskie (.411) and Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki (.400).
5 -- Managers in major league history who have won 1,500 games with one team. Braves skipper Bobby Cox reached the milestone Friday night, joining Connie Mack (3,637 with the Athletics from 1901-50), John McGraw (2,658 with the Giants from 1902-32), Walter Alston (2,040 with the Dodgers from 1954-76), Tommy Lasorda (1,599 with the Dodgers from 1976-96).
6 -- Multihomer games for Javy Lopez. The single-season record of 11 was set in 1938 by Hank Greenberg and equaled in 1998 by Sammy Sosa.
7 -- Pitchers who have started an All-Star Game in his team's home park: Carl Hubbell (Polo Grounds, 1934), Johnny Vander Meer (Crosley Field, 1938), Red Ruffing (Yankee Stadium, 1939), Don Drysdale (Los Angeles Coliseum, 1959), Whitey Ford (Yankee Stadium, 1960), Steve Rogers (Olympic Stadium, 1982) and Pedro Martinez (Fenway Park, 1999). The Chicago White Sox's surprising Esteban Loaiza could join that list July 15 at U.S. Cellular Field.
11 -- Quality starts in as many assignments for D'backs rookie Brandon Webb, the longest streak to start a career since Steve Rogers reeled off 16 straight quality starts (at least 6 IP, 3 or fewer ER) for the Expos in 1973.
13 -- Players in major league history who have hit for the cycle in sequence -- single, double, triple and homer. Montreal's Brad Wilkerson accomplished the feat Tuesday. The others: Bill Collins (Oct. 6, 1910), Bob Fothergill (Sept. 26, 1926), Tony Lazzeri (June 3, 1932), Charlie Gehringer (May 27, 1939), Leon Culberson (July 3, 1943), Jim Hickman (Aug. 7, 1963), Ken Boyer (June 16, 1964), Billy Williams (July 17, 1966), Tim Foli (April 22, 1976), Bob Watson (Sept. 15, 1979), John Mabry (May 18, 1996), Jose Valentin (April 27, 2000).
25 -- Consecutive games against NL West opponents upcoming for the Diamondbacks, who are riding an 11-game winning streak.
38 -- Pitchers since 1950 who have lost 20 or more games in a season, but none since Brian Kingman went 8-20 in 1980. At the season's midpoint, there are two 12-game losers, two 11-game losers and two 10-game losers.
86 -- Players who have homered in the first major league at-bat. Houston's David Matranga joined the club Friday. The only other Astro to homer in his first plate appearance was Jose Sosa (July 30, 1975).
112.75 -- Pitches per start for Cubs right-hander Kerry Wood, tops in the majors. Teammate Mark Prior is a close second at 111.94.
$450,000 -- Winning bid for Barry Bonds' record 73rd home run ball auctioned last Wednesday to comic book icon Todd McFarlane. McFarlane also bought Mark McGwire's 70th homer ball in 1999 for $3.2 million.
