PARIS (AP) -- The Williams sisters finally get to play each other in a final -- mixed doubles on Friday at the French Open.
The sisters have met in tournament play only twice in their professional careers, in the second round of this year's Australian Open and in the quarterfinals of the Italian Open.
In the mixed doubles final, Venus plays with Justin Gimmelstob and Serena plays with Luis Lobo.
In singles, Serena was beaten in the fourth round by No. 4 Arantxa Sanchez Vicario. Venus lost in the quarterfinals to top-seeded Martina Hingis.
Kiss and tell
When Brazilian soccer star Ronaldo appeared in the dignitaries box Monday to watch Cedric Pioline beat Marat Safin, he was joined by teen queen Anna Kournikova. In between signing autographs, Ronaldo kissed Kournikova.
In the dressing room, other players inundated Kournikova with questions: "Is it true, did you kiss Ronaldo?"
"No," the self-assured 17-year-old answered. "He kissed me."
Strung out
Was Jim Courier in a hurry or just forgetful after his second-round loss to Jens Knippschild of Germany?
When Courier left the French Open immediately after his defeat, he left behind one of his rackets, which he had dropped off at the racket stringers.
Born to run
There's just no stopping Alex Corretja. After his quarterfinals victory over Filip Dewulf on Wednesday, he went for a run.
Corretja was seen jogging in the nearby Bois de Boulogne, accompanied by his coach. That brought back memories of a former two-time French Open champion with the same habits: Jim Courier.
