PARIS (AP) -- A look at Friday's play in the French Open:

Attendance: 31,588 at Roland Garros stadium (31,472 in 1998).

Weather: Sunny with some clouds, afternoon highs of 81 F.

Men's winners: Patrick Rafter (3), Carlos Moya (4), Alex Corretja (6), Marcelo Rios (9), Greg Rusedski (12) and Andre Agassi (13).

Women's winners: Martina Hingis (1), Jana Novotna (4), Venus Willimas (5) and Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario (7).

Losers: Tim Henman (7) lost to Alberto Bersategui.

On the women's side, Serena Williams (10) bowed to Mary Joe Fernandez and Barbara Schett (15) lost to Sylvia Plischke.

Saturday's schedule: Patrick Rafter (3) faces Fernando Meligeni. Alex Corretja (6) meets Gaston Gaudio. Gustavo Kuerten (8) plays Sjeng Schalken and Felix Mantilla (14) is up against Tommy Haas.

On the women's side, Lindsay Davenport (2) meets Fabiola Zuluaga. Monica Seles (3) plays Maria Antonia Sanchez-Lorenzo. Steffi Graf (6) faces Asa Carlsson. Patty Schnyder (11) is up against Anna Kournikova and Julie Halard Decugis (16) meets Cristina Torrens-Valero.

Quote: "I should have been taken off the court and immediately asked to leave the facilities, never to return again," Serena Williams on how badly she played against Mary Joe Fernandez.

Stat of the day: 137 mph -- speed of fastest serve of the tournament so far, served by Greg Rusedski in his third round match against Davide Sanguinetti.
