in leading Australia to its second straight final; has compiled
a 5-1 record in Davis Cup this year, including two wins in the

quarterfinals against the United States and beat Todd Martin in
four sets to give his team a 1-0 edge; became a national hero

at Lyon, France last month; saw his first Davis Cup action of
the year in the quarterfinals against Germany and teamed with
Mark Woodforde to pull out a five-set victory in doubles; won
both his singles matches in the semifinal sweep of Brazil,
including a straight-sets win over world No. 1 Gustavo Kuerten;
posted two singles wins in the quarterfinals against the United
States last year; has played Davis Cup every year since 1994.

career after playing in his third career Davis Cup final, but
first without long-time partner Todd Woodbridge; clinched this
year's Davis Cup quarterfinal and semifinal victories over
Germany and Brazil, respectively, with five-set doubles wins;
ended his partnership with Woodbridge after winning the doubles
silver medal at the Olympics, and will team with Sandon Stolle
this weekend; was a member of the 1993 Davis Cup team that lost
to Germany in the final; gave Australia a 2-1 lead in last
year's final against France by teaming with Woodbridge to win
their doubles match.

The son of former Australian Davis Cup player Fred Stolle
recorded his first Davis Cup doubles win in the semifinals
against Brazil, teaming with Mark Woodforde for the clinching
five-set win; made his Davis Cup debut in 1997 in a dead rubber,
but did not play Davis Cup again until last year's quarterfinals
against the United States, when he and Woodforde lost to Pete
Sampras and Alex O'Brien; partnered Woodforde again in the
semifinals against Russia but lost to Yevgeny Kafelnikov and
Andrei Olhovskiy; teamed with Wayne Arthurs in the first round
against Switzerland, but lost in four sets to Roger Federer and
Lorenzo Manta.
