WIMBLEDON, England (AP) -- Anna Kournikova, Wimbledon's most photographed player, reached the second round at Wimbledon with a 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 victory Monday over 10th seeded Sandrine Testud of France.

Playing on Centre Court, unseeded Kournikova overcame a 90-minute rain delay leading 6-5 in the first set. In the second set, Testud saved two match points at 4-5 forcing the deciding third set.

In the third set, Kournikova went up 4-1. Testud, down 2-5, saved a match point and then broke to get back at 4-5. But she then double faulted at deuce to give Kournikova another match point. This time Testud hit a backhand into the net.

Testud was the first seeded player -- man or woman -- to lose Monday.

The 19-year-old Russian has never won a tournament in more than 70 tries and has risen to fame on her good looks. She reached the fourth round last year at Wimbledon and the semifinals in '97.
