Andre Agassi captured his seventh Grand Slam title with Sunday's win over Arnaud Clement. AP

Agassi again

American wins second straight Aussie Open title

Coming into Sunday's Australian Open final, Andre Agassi had won six Grand Slam finals, but had never successfully defended any of them. Facing Arnaud Clement, the man that ended his hopes for a repeat at the U.S. Open in 2000, Agassi ended that streak in dominant fashion, crushing Clement 6-4, 6-2, 6-2. Agassi's win marked the second consecutive sweep of the singles titles Down Under by Americans, following Jennifer Capriati's stunning victory on Saturday over Martina Hingis in the women's final.
