Williams cruises into Wimbledon final

WIMBLEDON, England (AP) -- Venus Williams, chasing here third straight Wimbledon title, overpowered Justine Henin 6-3, 6-2 Thursday to reach the Wimbledon final and set up another possible Grand Slam showdown against her sister.

The top-seeded men's player, Lleyton Hewitt, had a much tougher time. After squandering four match points in the third set, he pulled out a pulsating five-set win against Scheng Schalken to reach the semifinals.

Hewitt, whose game slipped after a controversial over-rule in the third set tiebreaker, raised his level when he needed it most in the fifth set to prevail 6-2, 6-2, 6-7 (5), 1-6, 7-5 in 3 hours, 51 minutes.

Hewitt will next face Britain's Tim Henman, who downed Brazil's Andre Sa 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 to reach the semis for the fourth time in five years as he bids to become the first British player to win the men's title since Fred Perry in 1936.
