    On September 5, 1989, Chris Evert played the last match of her career. She lost to Zina Garrison 7-6, 6-2, in the quarterfinals. Evert finished her career with a match record of 1,304-145. She won 157 tournament championships -- including 18 Grand Slam titles -- and nearly $9 million in prize money. Her record at the Open: 101-12, with six titles.
