Rain, rain go away!

More rain stops Nottingham Open; Wimbledon in danger

NOTTINGHAM, England (AP) -- Only one match was completed Monday at the Nottingham Open before rain ended play at the grass-court tournament for the day.

Spain's Jordi Burillo defeated Chris Wilkinson of England 6-2, 6-2.

With the start of Wimbledon only a week off -- and with last year's Wimbledon on record as the wettest ever -- much of England has been blanketed for weeks with wet weather and gray skies.

And it appears that the weather is not going improve any time soon.

The forecast calls for more rain in south and central England into the weekend. That will dampen this tournament and the women's grass-court event opening Tuesday in Eastbourne.
