WARSAW, Poland (AP) -- Anna Kournikova, fighting arm and leg injuries, was forced to quit her match against Svetlana Kuznetsova in the first round Tuesday of the $170,000 J&S Cup tournament.

Kournikova was trailing 4-6, 6-4, 5-2 when she withdrew.

She took a break after winning the first set because she had problems with her left leg. In the second set, while trailing 2-4, doctors examined her right arm.

It was not immediately clear which injury forced her out.

In other matches, top-seeded Henrieta Nagyova defeated Irina Selyutina 6-4, 6-4; Selima Sfar defeated fourth-seeded Alina Jidkova 6-0, 6-3; fifth-seeded Virginia Ruano-Pascual beat second-seeded Vera Douchevina 6-1, 7-6; and Emilie Loit defeated seventh-seeded Janica Kostanic 6-4, 6-0.
