MONTREAL (Reuters) -- Frenchwoman Amelie Mauresmo made short work of Colombia's Fabiola Zuluaga to progress to the Canadian Open semi-finals on Friday.

The seventh seed eased to a 6-0, 6-2 victory and now plays Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova or Austrian Barbara Schett.

The other quarter-finals will be played later on Friday. American second seed Jennifer Capriati faces Belgium's Justine Henin while former world No. 1 Martina Hingis continues her comeback from injury by taking on Jelena Dokic.

The $1.2 million Canadian Open, a warm-up for the U.S. Open, is the first tournament Hingis has played in three months, having undergone surgery to repair ligaments in her left ankle in May.
