Kournikova will play in the DFS Classic, June 9-15, organizers said. The grass-court event features three of the world's top 20 players, with fellow Russian Elena Dementieva as the top seed. Kournikova, ranked 78th on the WTA Tour, has yet to win a singles title in her career. Last week, she lost to a player ranked 384th in the first round of a lower-tier clay-court event in Charlottesville, Va. Kournikova has been hampered by a left thigh injury. |
