We meet again Clijsters gets rematch with Henin-Hardenne at OrdinaPosted: Friday June 20, 2003 9:27 AMUpdated: Friday June 20, 2003 12:51 PM ROSMALEN, Netherlands (AP) -- Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin-Hardenne won semifinal matches Friday at the Ordina Open, setting up a rematch of the all-Belgian final at the French Open. Henin-Hardenne, seeded second, offset the strong serves of fifth-seeded Nadia Petrova of Russia, winning 5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-3. "It was a great fight," Henin-Hardenne said. "In the first set, I didn't play well and I couldn't find my fighting spirit, but the most important thing is that I won." Clijsters, seeded first, scored a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Germany's Barbara Rittner. "It was difficult circumstances," said Clijsters, who lost in straight sets to Henin-Hardenne in the French final June 7. "The wind made points unpredictable." Among the men, top-seeded Jiri Novak was upset by Czech countryman Jan Vacek 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinals. Defending champion Sjeng Schalken of the Netherlands advanced to the semis with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over sixth-seeded Tommy Robredo of Spain. "If I get going in a tournament, I'm dangerous," Schalken said. Vacek's next opponent is seventh-seeded Arnaud Clement of France. Clement rallied past Spain's Fernando Vicente 4-6, 6-3, 6-0.
Schalken will face the winner of an all-Dutch semifinal between
Raemon Sluiter or John van Lottum.
