Tommy Haas advances to Citi Open semifinals

WASHINGTON (AP) - Tommy Haas reached the Citi Open semifinals by defeating Tobias Kamke 6-1, 6-2 Friday.

Haas, ranked 36th, will face the winner of top-seeded Mardy Fish against Xavier Malisse.

Haas, who's making his seventh appearance in the tournament, has never advanced past the semifinals. He also reached the semifinals in 2008.

Kamke, ranked 107th, upset Benoit Paire to reach his first ATP World Tour quarterfinal of the year before falling to Haas in their first meeting.
