DAVE BRANCH
Biography
Dave Branch is an anchor for CNN/Sports Illustrated. He joined the network in May 1998.
Before joining CNN/Sports Illustrated, Branch was the weekend sports anchor and reporter for WTVD-TV in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., for three years. In addition to producing, writing and editing the weekend shows, he covered local sports, including ACC basketball, football, NCAA tournaments, bowl games, Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets and the Charlotte Sting.
From 1994 to 1995, Branch worked as a weekend news anchor and reporter for KERO-TV of Bakersfield, Calif. In 1993, he provided sideline reports for Southern Conference football for SportSouth in Atlanta, Ga. From 1992 to 1993, he provided college basketball and football color analysis for WIGO-AM, also in Atlanta.
Branch won the 1997 National Association of Black Journalists Sports Award for Market Size 16 and below.
Branch received his bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
