JAIME DIAZ
Biography
Jaime Diaz, who was a Sports Illustrated staff writer from 1983 to 1989, returned to the magazine in 1993 after spending four years covering golf for The New York Times, as well as Golf Digest and Golf World magazines. He is currently a senior writer pri
marily assigned to SI's Golf Plus section. He will be a regular contributor on the golf beat to CNN/SI, the 24-hour sports news network from CNN and Sports Illustrated.
Diaz currently contributes a weekly commentary to CNN's PRO GOLF WEEKLY Sundays at 7:30 a.m. (ET). He has won several awards for his writing from organizations including the Golf Writer's Association of America, and his freelance work has appeared in nume
rous magazines. He authored a chapter in the United States Golf Association's centennial book, "Golf: The Greatest Game", and is currently at work on a book with golfer Raymond Floyd.
A native of San Francisco, Diaz received a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of San Francisco, where he was also a member of the golf team for four years. He lives in California with his wife, along with their three dogs and two horse
