MIKE GALANOS

Biography

    Mike Galanos is an anchor for CNN/Sports Illustrated. In 1997, Galanos hosted CNN's seasonal programs, BASEBALL 97 and COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREVIEW.

    Galanos started his career at CNN in April 1988 as a video journalist, CNN's entry-level position. Among other duties, he ran the teleprompter and studio camera for Headline News Anchors Don Harrison and Bobbie Batista. He moved into the sports department as an editor one year later. In 1991, he left CNN for his first on-air position in Reno, Nevada. Galanos returned to CNN as a sports anchor in June 1994.

    Galanos graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in broadcast communication arts from San Francisco State University.
