BOB LORENZ
Biography
Bob Lorenz is an anchor for CNN/Sports Illustrated. Lorenz hosts CNN's NFL PREVIEW with analysts Trev Alberts, Ron Meyer, Pat Kirwan and SI's Peter King, and COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREVIEW with Alberts and SI's Tim Layden and Ivan Maisel. He previously co-anchored CNN's SPORTS TONIGHT alongside Fred Hickman.
From 1992 to 1996, Lorenz hosted CNN's weekly baseball show; from 1994 to 1996, he hosted CNN's COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREVIEW with analyst Danny Sheridan, COLLEGE BASKETBALL PREVIEW with Mike Glenn and COLLEGE COACH'S CORNER; he hosted CNN's NFL PREVIEW with James Lofton in 1995; and in 1994, he hosted INISIDE THE NBA on TNT. He joined CNN in April 1991.
Before joining CNN, Lorenz was a reporter and anchor at WPTV-TV in West Palm Beach, Fla. Joining WPTV-TV in 1988, he wrote, produced and anchored four weekend sportscasts, including two expanded shows. Lorenz also served as sports director at KIEM-TV in Eureka, Calif., and was a writer at CBS Extravision in Los Angeles, and an analyst/anchor for Citicable in Torrance, Calif.
Lorenz holds a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
