TOM RINALDI
Biography
Tom Rinaldi, based in the network's Los Angeles bureau, is the West Coast correspondent for CNN/Sports Illustrated.
Before joining the network, Rinaldi wrote, produced and reported news stories for KCRA-TV in Sacramento, Calif. From 1996 to 1997, Rinaldi was a reporter for KATU-TV in Portland, Ore., where he frequently provided live coverage of breaking news. From 1993 to 1996, he was a reporter for WNDU-TV in South Bend, Ind., producing several in-depth news stories and reporting live from NCAA basketball tournaments.
Rinaldi won three Northwest Regional Emmys in 1997 for Series Reporting, Feature Reporting and Same-day News Reporting. In 1994, he won five Indiana Press Awards and the Best Spot News Award from the Society of Professional Journalists.
Rinaldi received a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania.
