CNN/Sports Illustrated Studio Tour - Producing & Writing
It's true, our on-air staff at CNN/Sports Illustrated certainly know their stuff. However, they couldn't bring it to you without the help of some crucial people. Writing and producing at CNN/Sports Illustrated are pretty much the same as in a traditional newsroom.
The producer keeps up with the daily press conferences, incoming stories gathered by our reporters, game highlights and breaking news to decide which stories take priority.

He or she then creates a rundown or list of stories according to their priority. On-air talent occasionally drops by to test the producer's patience. Anchor Jim Huber is an expert at this.
The writer researches and writes those stories as well as lead-ins to stories brought in by our reporters. A copy editor reviews the writer's work and then hard copies are printed and distributed to the anchors and crew. Which brings us to the other important people behind the scenes.
