Indy Racing League -- Named Brian Barnhart vice president of operations.


BASEBALL TRANSACTIONS
Atlanta Braves -- Optioned infielder Steve Sisco to Richmond of the International League (AAA); recalled pitcher Gabe Molina from Richmond.
Baltimore Orioles -- Extended working agreement with Maryland Baseball Limited Partnership for minor league teams in Bowie, Frederick and Delmarva through the 2002 season; optioned third baseman Ryan Minor to Rochester of the International League (AAA); recalled infielder Mike Kinkade.
Colorado Rockies -- Placed outfielder Larry Walker on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 20, with an inflamed right elbow; recalled catcher-infielder Adam Melhuse from Colorado Springs of the Pacific Coast League (AAA).
Kansas City Royals -- Named Deric Ladnier director of scouting.

Buffalo Bills -- Released defensive backs Askari Adams, David Byrd and Quincy Coleman, fullback Phillip Crosby, kicker Jon Hilbert, tight end John Jennings, linebacker Keith Kelsey, wide receivers Scott Pingel and Corey Sullivan, center Spencer Riley, quarterback Phil Stambaugh, guard Mike Tosaw, punter Jason Van Dyke and defensive tackle Nathaniel Williams.
Cincinnati Bengals -- Released kicker Doug Pelfrey.
