Baltimore Orioles -- Acquired pitcher Chris Brock from the Philadelphia Phillies for pitcher John Wasdin.
Chicago White Sox -- Acquired pitcher Todd Ritchie and catcher Lee Evans from the Pittsburgh Pirates for pitchers Kip Wells, Sean Lowe and Josh Fogg; promoted Gary Pellant to professional scouting coordinator; named Rick Ingalls a professional scout; promoted Nathan Durst to Midwest supervisor of amateur scouting, John Tumminia to Northeast supervisor, Larry Grefer to Southeast supervisor, and Paul Provas to Gulf Coast supervisor; named Nick Hostetler as scout for Georgia; named Adam Virchis full-time scout in Northern California.
Cincinnati Reds -- Named Jim Lefebvre hitting coach and Ray Knight to coaching staff; designated third baseman Brandon Larson for assignment.
Cleveland Indians -- Released pitcher Steve Woodard.
Detroit Tigers -- Signed free agent utilityman Craig Paquette, who had been with the St. Louis Cardinals, to a two-year contract.
Los Angeles Dodgers -- Acquired pitcher Paul Quantrill and infielder Cesar Izturis from the Toronto Blue Jays for pitchers Luke Prokopec and Chad Ricketts.
New York Mets -- Signed free agent outfielder Roger Cedeno, who had been with the Detroit Tigers, to a four-year contract; sent pitcher Billy Traber and first baseman Earl Snyder to the Cleveland Indians to complete an eight-player deal made Tuesday; signed free agent pitcher David Weathers, who had been with the Chicago Cubs, to a three-year contract.
New York Yankees -- Signed free agent first baseman Jason Giambi, who had been with the Oakland Athletics, to a seven-year contract; acquired outfielder John Vander Wal from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for pitcher Jay Witasick.
St. Louis Cardinals -- Named Joe Pettini bench coach.
Toronto Blue Jays -- Released catcher Alberto Castillo and infielder Luis Lopez.

Indiana Pacers -- Activated forward Carlos Rogers from the injured list; placed forward Primoz Brezec on the injured list with a severe right ankle sprain.
