Chicago Cubs -- Reached agreement on a minor-league contract with pitcher Terry Mulholland and invited him to spring training.

Cincinnati Reds -- Signed pitchers David West and Mike Walker to minor-league contracts and invited West to spring training.

Houston Astros -- Agreed to terms on a one-year contract with pitcher Scott Elarton; named Lyle Yates manager and Darwin Pennye coach at Auburn of the New York-Penn League (A).
