Cincinnati Reds -- Traded minor-league infielder Yuri Sanchez to
the New York Mets for minor-league first baseman/outfielder
Roberto Petagine.
New York Mets -- Signed pitchers Octavio Dotel and Jesus Sanchez
for the 1998 season.
Seattle Mariners -- Agreed to terms on a two-year contract with
pitcher Bobby Ayala.
Jacksonville Suns (Southern League/AA) -- Named Dave Schultz
director of broadcasting.
Hudson Valley Renegades (New York-Penn League/A) -- Named
Charlie Montoyo manager, Brad Ripplemeyer pitching coach and Ray
Searage pitching coach.

Toronto Raptors -- Placed center Zan Tabak on the injured list
with a fractured right hand.
Morris Revolution (ABA) -- Signed guard Malcolm Sims.
