BASEBALL

Los Angeles Dodgers -- Signed infielders Juan Castro and Tripp Cromer and catchers Henry Blanco and Angel Pena to one-year contracts.

Montreal Expos -- Re-signed outfielder F.P. Santangelo and pitcher Carlos Perez, who avoided salary arbitration, to one-year contracts; signed pitchers Rick DeHart, Mike Johnson, Steve Kline, Trey Moore, Jeremy Powell, Mike Thurman and Javier Vazquez, catcher Bob Henley, infielders Orlando Cabrera and Jose Fernandez and outfielder Terry Jones to one-year contracts.

New York Mets -- Signed infielder Ralph Milliard to a one-year contract.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Agreed to terms on a one-year contract with pitcher Ricky Bottalico, avoiding salary arbitration.

BASKETBALL

Cleveland Cavaliers -- Signed guard Carl Thomas to a second 10-day contract.

FOOTBALL

Arizona Cardinals -- Re-signed defensive tackle Eric Swann to a five-year contract.

Atlanta Falcons -- Re-signed punter Dan Stryzinski to a three-year contract; waived center Roman Fortin, offensive tackle Antone Davis, wide receiver Michael Haynes and defensive end Anthony Pleasant.

Cincinnati Bengals -- Designated defensive end Dan Wilkinson as their franchise player.

Miami Dolphins -- Named Kippy Brown offensive coordinator, Larry Seiple quarterbacks coach, Joel Collier running backs coach, Robert Ford wide receivers coach and Randy Shannon defensive assistant.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- Signed free agent fullback Kantroy Barber and defensive end Israel Ifeanyi to two-year contracts; re-signed fullback Steve Lee, offensive tackle Kenneth McDaniel and wide receiver Geroy Simon to two-year contracts.

Washington Redskins -- Designated defensive tackle Sean Gilbert as their franchise player; tendered one-year contract offers to restricted free agents tight end Jamie Asher, defensive ends Rich Owens and Jamal Duff, kicker Scott Blanton and defensive backs Darryl Pounds and Scott Turner, and exclusive rights free agents linebacker Patrise Alexander, defensive tackle Ryan Kuehl and fullback Larry Bowie; signed the following 12 free agents: guard Michael Batiste, linebacker Malcolm Hamilton, tight ends Henry Lusk, Chris Sanders and Mike Sellers, offensive tackles Jeff Miller and Ozell Powell, wide receivers Felman Malveau and Eric Matthews, running back Alex Smith, fullback Le'Shai Maston and kicker Danny Kight.

HOCKEY

Calgary Flames -- Assigned left wings Hnat Domenichelli and Todd Hlushko, defenseman Denis Gauthier and goaltender Tyler Moss to Saint John of the American Hockey League; assigned defenseman Kevin Dahl to Chicago of the International Hockey League.

Columbus Blue Jackets -- Named Doug MacLean general manager.

Kansas City Blades (IHL) -- Returned defenseman Dan Hodge to Peoria of the East Coast Hockey League.

San Antonio Dragons (IHL) -- Signed forward Dan Lupo to a 25-game tryout.

Tallahassee Tiger Sharks (ECHL) -- Activated forward Dan Lupo from the injured reserve list and loaned him to San Antonio of the International Hockey League.

Port Huron Border Cats (UHL) -- Signed forward Steve Martell to a one-year contract.

Phoenix Mustangs (WCHL) -- Waived right wing Trevor Converse.

Austin Ice Bats (WPHL) -- Named Paul Lawless head coach.

SOCCER

Charleston Battery (A-League) -- Signed midfielder/forward Robert Rosario.

COLLEGE

Idaho State -- Named Gordon Henderson women's soccer coach.
