Boston Red Sox -- Pitcher Dennis Eckersley announced his
retirement; acquired pitcher Marino Santana from the Detroit
Tigers in exchange for cash considerations.
Chicago White Sox -- Extended the contract of manager Jerry
Manuel through the 2001 season with a club option for 2002.
Cleveland Indians -- Named Brian Graham infield coach and
Clarence Jones outfield coach.
Houston Astros -- Signed pitcher Shane Reynolds to a three-year
contract extension worth $21.5 million through 2002.
Kansas Royals -- Signed free agent infielder Rey Sanchez, who
had been with the San Francisco Giants, to a one-year contract.
New York Mets -- Traded Joe Randa to the Kansas City Royals for
outfielder Juan Le Bron.
