Detroit Tigers -- Announced catcher Raul Casanova was activated from the 60-day disabled list, cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Toledo of the International League (AAA). Kansas City Royals -- Extended the contract of manager Tony Muser through the 2000 season. Durham Bulls (International League/AAA) -- Promoted outfielder Kraig Hawkins from Orlando of the Southern League (AA); placed outfielder Carlos Mendoza on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring. Piedmont Boll Weevils (Class A/South Atlantic League) -- Promoted infielder Uriel Casillas to Clearwater of the Florida State League (A). South Bend Silver Hawks (Class A/Midwest League) -- Placed outfielder John Adams on the disabled list; signed outfielder Kevin Burnes.
