Chicago Cubs -- Acquired pitcher Joey Nation from the Atlanta Braves to complete a July 31 trade. Cleveland Indians -- Placed outfielder Kenny Lofton on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 16, with a strained hamstring; recalled infielder-outfielder Jolbert Cabrera. Kansas City Royals -- Placed second baseman Carlos Febles on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated left pinky finger, recalled infielder Steve Scarsone from Triple-A Omaha of the Pacific Coast League. Milwaukee Brewers -- Purchased the contract of pitcher Hector Ramirez from Louisville of the International League (AAA); placed catcher Bobby Hughes on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right elbow.
