Baltimore Orioles -- Transferred first baseman Will Clark to the 60-day disabled list; purchased the contract of pitcher Matt Riley from Rochester of the International League (AAA). Chicago Cubs -- Recalled pitcher Brian McNichol from Iowa of the Pacific Coast League (AAA). Cleveland Indians -- Activated catcher Sandy Alomar from the 60-day disabled list; designated pitcher Jim Poole for assignment. Florida Marlins -- Recalled third baseman Kevin Orie from an injury rehabilitation assignment at Calgary of the Pacific Coast League (AAA) and activated him from the 15-day disabled list. Montreal Expos -- Released third baseman Shane Andrews. Philadelphia Phillies -- Activated pitcher Carlton Loewer from the 60-day disabled list; transferred pitcher Yorkis Perez from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list. Pittsburgh Pirates -- Recalled outfielder Chad Hermansen, infielder Aramis Ramirez and pitcher Jason Boyd from Nashville of the Pacific Coast League (AAA); purchased the contracts of pitcher Mike Garcia and catcher Tim Laker from Nashville; designated catcher Chris Tremie for assignment. Rockford Reds (Midwest League/A) -- Added catcher Daniel Santiago to the active roster.
