A six-time Pro Bowler, Jackson played tight end for three different teams during his nine-year NFL career. He was the Philadelphia Eagles' top draft choice in 1988 and spent his first four seasons with the Eagles. In 1992 he joined the Miami Dolphins as a free agent and spent three years there before he was traded to the Packers in 1995. He retired in March 1997 after the Packers defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI. A 1987 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Jackson was a consensus All-American and unanimous All-Big Eight Conference selection as a junior and senior and a unanimous All-Big Eight Conference selection as a sophomore. He earned academic all-conference honors and earned a bachelor's degree in communications.
