TNT Presents The Masters of Figure Skating Featuring World Champion Skaters For Release: November 13, 2001 TNT presents The Masters of Figure Skating on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, featuring World Champions Michelle Kwan and Alexei Yagudin, among others. Turner Sports’ Tracy Wilson, Rosalynn Sumners and Dei Lynam will call the action, which was taped October 13, in San Diego, Calif. Two-time World Champion Kwan is joined by Goodwill Games Gold Medalist Irina Slutskaya, Maria Butyrskaya, Yuka Sato and Sasha Cohen. Reigning World Champion Yagudin leads the men’s field, joined by Nagano Olympic gold medalist Ilia Kulik. Five-time U.S. National Champion and former World Champion Todd Eldredge is the third member of the men’s field, along with eight-time British men's figure skating champion Steven Cousins. The pairs competition includes Khue Shen and Hongho Zhao, Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman, and Mandy Woetzel and Ingo Steuer. The Masters of Figure Skating is the first of two ISU (International Skating Union) Open events TNT will air this season. In addition to the Masters, TNT will cover the Canadian Open in January from Ottawa, Canada. ISU Open events enable Olympic-eligible skaters to compete against professional skaters in short and interpretive programs.
